Volunteering

Socializing dogs and cats during shelter hours
Foster homes for small kittens, pregnant cats, cats with kittens, special needs animals, or our long term dog residents.
Transportation for animals going to rescue or to other shelters.
Dog walking during shelter hours
Help with fundraisers - please let us know if you have any good ideas for fundraising events!
Grant writing
Serve on our Board of Directors
Volunteers to wrap dog biscuits with our business cards for our Give a Dog a Bone promotion. The biscuits are given out at local businesses that have drive-up windows and also handed out at parades.

To become a volunteer, email volunteercoordinator.hskmc@gmail.com for more information! You can also fill out the volunteer form and bring it into the shelter. Don't forget to check the events for upcoming fun volunteer opportunities!

Fostering Animals

You could become a Foster Care Home for an animal in need...The perfect opportunity to enjoy the company of a rescued shelter animal without the commitment of adoption! Many are waiting now for your call! If you are interested in becoming a foster home for an animal in need, please contact the shelter at shelter@thehskmc.com or call us at 320-235-7612.

We ask you to fill out an Foster Care Application.
Must live within 30 miles from shelter for veterinary care.
Once completed, please drop off at the shelter or mail it to:

Financial Donations

Become a supporter and join our membership program! We now take ACH Automatic donations! Just fill out the ACH Automatic deduction form and send it to the shelter.
You can specify your donations to our operating fund, spay/neuter fund or special medical fund. Just fill out the donation form and mail to the shelter, or you can donate online with a credit card or paypal by clicking the button below. Any questions, please contact the shelter for more information!
